Many Uses for TAO on Campus

The TAO tools and platform were built to meet many students’ skill development & educational needs in well-being and behavioral health.

TAO can be used to provide self-help when students need support and education for common issues, and to provide professionally guided help when the student’s problems require a higher level of care. The TAO platform includes a measure of resilience that allows administrators to track the utilization and effectiveness of the tools in various use cases on campus. The program takes 60 minutes to complete on line and covers alcohol expectancies, the difference between pharmacological effects and placebo effects, social norms, and the efforts by alcohol companies to deceptively display positive alcohol expectancies in advertising.

Sexual Violence Prevention Content

TAO has partnered with Dimensions Learning to bring online delivered sexual violence prevention training. Select from 11 sessions including: sexual agency, gender identity, social judgement, gender socialization, healthy sexuality in a relationship, healthy and unhealthy relationship boundaries, consent, coercion, peer pressure, alcohol and drugs, bystander intervention, myths and realities of sexual violence, gender stereotypes, and changing the culture around gender and sexual violence.

Dimensions Learning worked with faculty and graduate students to ground our program in cutting-edge theory and practice.  In addition, Dimensions conducted research with universities to validate content and its impact on knowledge and attitudes.
