The entire team at TAO offers our deepest condolences to the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the countless others who have lost loved ones to attacks perpetuated by a country with a long history of racism. We stand in solidarity with the millions of peaceful protestors across the nation as we demand those who commit these heinous acts be held accountable. Silence is not and has never been an option. We call on this country to examine and confront its prejudices and racist biases as we take responsibility to do the same. Racism in America didn’t end with the 13th Amendment in 1865. It didn’t end with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. However, as a country that stands in the streets and demands a national task force aimed to end racial injustice and increase police accountability, as a country that screams for an increased Civil Rights Division, we may finally be able to start healing from wounds that are centuries old.
